At Manoa Valley Veterinary Clinic, we believe that regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your pets’ well-being. Routine physical exams allow us to evaluate your pet’s overall health and screen for early signs of disease. Our wellness packages are uniquely customized for all life stages and include vaccinations, heartworm testing, fecal testing, and routine screening of blood panels.
Vaccinations
At Manoa Valley Veterinary Clinic, we believe that one of the most important things that you can do to keep your pet healthy is keeping them current on their vaccinations. There are a variety of diseases which can affect our pets which can easily be avoided simply by following proper vaccination guidelines. We will be happy to discuss the unique risks of living in our region and the benefits of protecting your pet. It is important to keep in mind that vaccinations should only be administered by a licensed veterinarian.
Dental Cleaning and X-rays
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet. Dental disease can lead to a variety of health issues involving the heart, liver, kidneys, and may lead to certain forms of cancer. Dental disease often goes unnoticed as a chronic source of pain and infection. In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population. We recommend yearly dental cleaning to maintain your pet’s oral and overall health.
Blood Tests and Diagnostics
We recommend annual blood profiles to screen for early signs of illness or disease. Blood profiles are especially important for patients who may be sick, elderly, or require surgery or anesthesia. As your pet ages, problems such as kidney failure, liver failure, diabetes, and cancer can occur. Detecting these problems early can make a tremendous difference in the course of their treatment.
Surgery
At Manoa Valley Veterinary Clinic, our doctors are highly skilled and knowledgeable in a variety of surgeries including: spay, neuter, mass removal, biopsy, cherry eye repair, cystotomy, cesarean section. If your pet needs surgery please make an appointment for a consultation.
X-rays and Radiographs
Radiographs, commonly called X-rays, are a very important diagnostic tool. At Manoa Valley Veterinary Clinic, our radiographic equipment is state-of-the-art, and we use it to diagnose both acute and chronic diseases in our veterinary patients.
Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention
Dogs and cats in Hawaii are susceptible to fleas, ticks, and heartworm infections year-round. Preventative medications can be started at an early age and continued throughout your pet’s lifetime to keep them healthy and happy. If your pet is not currently protected against fleas, ticks, or heartworms, contact us today to get started as soon as possible.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound allows us to get real-time images of your pet’s internal organs. With this, we are able to diagnose and manage many diseases that may go undetected on routine blood work.
Canine Reproductive Services
We offer reproductive services to our canine breeder clients. Services include: semen collection and evaluation, artificial insemination, ovulation timing, cesarean section. We recommend that all breeding dogs are in good health, current on vaccinations, free from known hereditary defects, and routine brucellosis screening for optimal success for your next planned litter.
